Frequently asked questions.

Do you accept insurance?

You certainly have the option of utilizing your insurance! If you would like to use insurance, you may seek out-of-network benefits for our sessions together. Out-of-network benefits are usually quite easy to navigate.

For using your insurance on an out-of-network basis, sessions will be charged directly to you at the time of our appointment, and then your insurance company may reimburse you directly for some portion of the cost based on coverage that your plan may have for therapy.

When we talk, I am more than happy to help you understand and navigate the out-of-network benefits process however I can! So that you can be equipped with more information about your particular plan, I also encourage you to call your insurance directly to ask about your out-of-network benefits for therapy. Still though, if it's helpful for us to chat first before you call, don't hesitate to call me as a first step!

How do I Find out about out-of-network benefits with my insurance?

Please contact your benefits administrator (or health insurance plan directly) to inquire about out-of-network benefits for mental health services and ask the following questions:

  1. Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health services provided via telehealth?

  2. What is my yearly deductible? Has it been met?

  3. How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

  4. How much does my insurance plan reimburse for an out-of-network provider for CPT codes 90791, 90837 and 90847?

  5. Do I need approval from my PCP?

How often will we meet? Can we meet biweekly or as needed?

I have found that those who are able to meet weekly are able to get the greatest benefit from our work together and tend to see significant and consistent progress. I request that we aim to meet weekly for at least the first three months as we build rapport, explore your history and build a foundation for long-term healing. From there, we can decide together what frequency would be most appropriate for your needs.

Can I see you while traveling out of state or on vacation, since it’s virtual? Can we continue working together if I move?

Unfortunately, state licensure limits my ability to practice anywhere other than the state I am licensed in at this time (currently NH, ME, and VT). The good news is that if you do live in NH, ME, or VT but live a long drive from where my physical office is located, you are able to easily meet and avoid the long commute. Telehealth means more accessibility throughout these states.
